The preparation of the static and anti-seismic study of a building, or a technical project in general, is a process that requires knowledge, experience and accuracy. The responsibility of the static and anti-seismic study is exclusively in the engineer who is called to study the structure of the building having in mind the architectural plan, the safety of the structure and at the same time the best economic technical solution.<\/p>

The above study concerns the behavior of a structure against a possible earthquake and in terms of its \"bearing capacity\", ie to be able to carry elements such as masonry, floors, people, objects, machinery, etc. Other parameters are considered depending on the type of construction, use and location. So, for example, in a metal building we will consider the wind pressure or in a wooden roof the height of the snow during the winter months, etc. Such stresses are quite important as they often occur during the life of a building and can even cause it to collapse.<\/p>

It is important that the static structure is placed and dimensioned empirically during the design of the building so that the requirements and the results of the study do not significantly affect the design of the building or lead to uneconomical solutions. The knowledge and experience of the engineer is crucial in placing the columns and beams of the building, during the architectural study, with the best possible layout, size and position so that we do not have large deviations due to the static solution.<\/p>

So after the engineer solves the building by properly simulating the structure and accurately describing the loads resulting from the architectural study and the various stresses in accordance with the regulations, you produce the calculation book and the formwork of the building. The drawings of the formwork describe the support (columns, beams, slabs, etc.) and the reinforcements. They must be detailed, legible and contain all the necessary information for the construction of the load-bearing structure of the building as well as for its costing. With these plans the construction of the building will start and any mistake or ambiguity can lead to incorrect construction of the building and even to the extent that its correction is quite expensive or even impossible.<\/p>
